No Show -- 7/9/07
Hello TMA'ers!
It appears Jason and I are having our long weekend extended a bit as Jason is having car problems and won't be making it in. With no Jason, that means no board-op, which means no show. We'll be back Tuesday, though! Thanks all.

Just another, in an extremely long list of examples, on how crappy this station is!! Jason, You've had over six days to get the car fixed and it breaks down on Monday?? How convinent!! Plus why doesn't STC have anyone else who can run the board?? To Cheap to get someone else?? And Paul why don't take the time to learn it?? If Jim can learn it anyone can!! These are questions which never have or will be answered because they are way to logical soooo...its time to move on to M&M and Colin for me or maybe Rizzo on KNR...At least those stations have someone on the air who is reliable.
I'm sorry that you feel that way, but it's a very difficult situation right now. Without disclosing too much detail about the inner workings here, as of Sunday night there were three people who work here that are here on a regular basis on weekdays: myself, Jones and Paul Belfi. Belfi is not usually here early enough to run the board for the whole morning show and obviously Jason was not here. With that said, along with my considerable inexperience behind the board, it was not possible to put a cogent show together yesterday. As for my running the board? I've done it before and to say that I'm awful at it would be an insult to awful board ops; there's a reason it was taken out of my contract. Also, it's really easy to take cheap shots at Jim now that he's gone, isn't it? It's also highly respectable and courageous of you to take all these swipes at the station and the show with the fully disclosing handle of "anonymous". Frankly I'm not really worried about losing a listener who prefers sucker punches to intelligent discourse. If you want to be That Guy, go to KNR and never come back; I won't miss you. If you want to talk like a man, you know where I am every day.

Hey CWord - I appreciate some of your comments (at least your responded).... As to how difficult it is inside STC - if it is that bad then maybe you should follow Jim's lead and think about a new job. Remember --- The listeners Don't Care about the internal problems at STC!!!! All they care about is being entertained... Can you imagine how long a gas station or a coffee shop would stay in business if it were run as spasmotically as STC. Open up when it is convinent, close when you want to.. Maybe have some gas to pump today or maybe not -- maybe we'll just serve yesterday's coffe and bagels ... I mean why serve something fresh when you can recycle yesterday's stuff and maybe somebody will buy it !!
STC is a business which is looking for customers aka listeners. However, the way it is currently being run it soon may be a business looking for a BUYER!!
As for my not IDing myself - why should I?? It doesn't make my comments and suggestions any less valid. I have been a long term listener - Over 2 years - And I believe that what I have seen and heard over the past 4-6 months is not good. The station and the shows have continually trended downward in both energy and content. What would you like listeners like me to do? Not let you know how we feel or just not comment and go to other Interent stations? By the way, my comments aren't "sucker punches" ...they are pointed and well thought out but most importantly they are accurate!
I am very sorry that you took my comments and decided to "call me out" ... "Intelligent discourse" isn't handled that way...
Why not REALLY think about what I'm saying and see what can be done to improve and fix these types of problems. Customer service survey's have continually shown that for every customer who actually complains to a company there are between 15-20 others who feel the same way but never complain and never buy from that company again!!! So please don't blame the listeners when they complain - You should be encouraging them to give you their feedback - they are the customer -now they may not always be right - but you should listen to them and consider if they are correct in their comments...and then treat them with the respect that they deserve.
I appreciate your more well-reasoned response, anonymous, but I do still have (as the rappers say) some beef.
1- If you go back and re-read your first comment, it is simple to see how it can be read as an attack (as opposed to constructive criticism).
2- It seems to me you're asking me to publicly bad-mouth the place where I work. That's not gonna happen; that's not something that I do. The personnel situation is tight here at STC, there's nothing I can do about it. I'd absolutely love having more people here. A full lineup of daytime programming with a bullpen of folks who could fill-in would be AMAZING. I was offered a free ride on a week-long vacation to Toronto (one of my favorite places on Earth) next week but I just can't go because there's noone to fill in for me and that would probably mean another week of no show.
It's just the realities of the situation; we're all doing the most that we can but we have some severe limitations these days, and those limitations pretty evenly coincide with those 4-6 months you mentioned. Trust me, we're doing the best we can with what we've got.
Hey C Word -
Do you think you could maybe update your own blog site?????????????
You know it is over 20 day since you posted anything ...like the Indians current record!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Maybe you should get JK back to help you keep current with the site and what is going on in the Cleveland sports world...and maybe you didn't know that your favorite "boy" KL is back in town!!
Stop yappin and start typin!
That doesn't make any sense.
